Only one goal was scored in Monday’s match between Metaloglobus and FK, and fortunately it ended up in the Bucharest side’s net: after a hard-fought game, Eppel’s goal brought us the mandatory three away points.

Before kickoff, both teams paid tribute to the late Mircea Lucescu, who passed away last week, while FK players wore black armbands. The match proved even more difficult than expected: we did not control possession, and the 8–2 corner ratio shows that most of the action took place in front of our goal.

The game started cautiously, with no major chances in the opening 15 minutes. In the 19th minute, we suffered a setback as Kleinheisler had to leave the pitch due to injury and was replaced by Gustavo. Shortly after, we could have taken the lead, but in the 20th minute Gavrila made a brilliant save from Eppel’s close-range header. Two minutes later, Anderson tried from a free kick 20 meters out, but missed the target.

The decisive moment came in the 26th minute when Cestor fouled Eppel inside the box, and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. In the 28th minute, Eppel confidently converted to give our team the lead (0–1). The hosts attempted to respond, but Țîrlea’s effort did not trouble Pap.

In the second half, Metaloglobus increasingly took control. Anderson’s individual effort was saved by Gavrila, while Eppel later tried from distance without success. In the 62nd minute, Purece tested Pap, who tipped the ball away, and three minutes later our goalkeeper made another excellent save from Sabater’s header.

The final twenty minutes brought heavy pressure from the hosts. In the 78th minute, Abbey could have equalized with his first touch but headed wide from close range, and soon after another dangerous shot was blocked by our defense. In the closing moments, the crowd reacted to Purece’s header and Bödő’s shot over the bar, but the score remained unchanged: the team celebrated the three points together with around twenty FK supporters in attendance.

“I am happy about the three points because we faced a team fighting for its last chance to stay in the top division. I congratulate Metaloglobus for their dedication and fight, and also my colleague Florin Bratu for his work here, even if results haven’t helped him. We suffered a lot this afternoon, but the most important thing is the three points,” said FK Csíkszereda head coach Ilyés Róbert after the match. He admitted it was very difficult to experience the game from the bench due to the pressure: “There are moments when, as coaches, we cannot control ourselves, we don’t even remember how we behave on the sidelines. Maybe it’s not always appropriate and we apologize for that, but these matches are extremely tense at this stage of the season. In five days another big battle awaits, we have no time to recover, another six-point match that we must win to distance ourselves from our rivals.”

In the next round (5th) of the Superliga play-out, on Saturday at 14:30, our team will host Unirea Slobozia at the Municipal Stadium.
