Corbu Marius will continue his career at Ferencváros, with the green-and-white club announcing the transfer of our former academy player on Monday evening.
Our former academy graduate has swapped sunny Cyprus for Budapest’s 9th district, after joining FTC from APOEL Nicosia during the winter transfer window. In doing so, he leaves the current sixth-placed team in the Cypriot league to move to a club competing in the Europa League knockout stages and, naturally, fighting for the domestic title – a clear step forward in his professional career. The 23-year-old central midfielder, who holds both Hungarian and Romanian citizenship and stands 179 cm tall, was introduced as follows on Ferencváros’ official website:
“In September 2019, at the age of 17, he made his debut for the senior team of Csíkszereda. In 2020 he was signed by Puskás Akadémia, where he initially played for the second team. In August 2020 he made his debut for the Felcsút-based club’s first team in a 3–2 home victory against Újpest. Between 2020 and 2024 he made a total of 112 league appearances for Puskás Akadémia, scoring 12 goals. With the team from Felcsút he won a silver medal in 2021 and a bronze medal in 2022 in the top division. In August 2024 he transferred to Cypriot side APOEL. In the current season he has played 18 league matches, registering four goals and six assists in the Cypriot top flight. He has also previously featured for Romania’s U20 and U21 national teams.”
Congratulations, Marius, on this new chapter of your career, and we wish you every success at your new club, in the capital of all Hungarians!
