FK Csíkszereda played out a 0–0 draw against hungarian first tier member Nyíregyháza Spartacus in their first friendly match of the winter training camp in Turkey.

The team’s first test of the year ended without goals. Due to various reasons, the coaching staff could not rely on several players, but the youngsters who stepped in all performed solidly. Brazilian winger Gustavo and Argentine defender Bettini made their debut in FK Csíkszereda colours.

In the first half, with Nyíregyháza enjoying more possession, FK focused on compact defending and counter-attacks. The statistics recorded one shot on target for each side and a total of six corner kicks. In the 20th minute, Simon made a fine save to deny Kovács’ 26-metre effort, while at the other end, in the 26th minute, Bese tipped Végh’s header over the bar following a corner.

According to the match plan, head coach Ilyés Róbert made almost a complete line-up change at half-time; only Palmeș, Végh and Gustavo remained on the pitch from the starting eleven. Nyíregyháza introduced fresh legs in the 60th minute, with seven new outfield players coming on.

FK had more attempts after the break (Brügger in the 48th minute, Dusinszki in the 61st and 77th, Bettini in the 83rd), but the biggest chances fell to the opponents. In the 69th minute, Gilbert missed the target after capitalising on an error on FK’s right flank, while in the 87th minute Vukk was denied in a one-on-one by an excellent save from Pap Eduárd.

Preparations continue on January 10, when FK Csíkszereda face Polish side Arka Gdynia.
