Our Womens Youth League side claimed a confident five-goal victory over Concordia Chiajna in the second round of the play-offs on Friday afternoon at the artificial turf of the Erőss Zsolt Arena.
The first half was evenly contested, but Berkeczi Emőke’s players gradually took control and turned their superiority into a goal in the 33rd minute through Tănase Dorina. After the break, our team shifted into an even higher gear and quickly decided the match: following Tănase’s second goal, Páll Vanda and Pîntea Scurtu Denisa Annamária also found the net, before Pap Ieney Ingrid set the final score at 5–0 in the closing stages.
After the match, head coach Berkeczi Emőke highlighted the team’s development and attitude.
– This play-off is not easy, as the girls are very young compared to the other teams. We lost our first play-off match, but fortunately the team did not give up and approached this game with renewed energy. Their progress is visible, as in the regular season we recorded a draw and a defeat against this same opponent, but now we took serious revenge. The goals came from well-worked situations, it was true teamwork. I hope we can continue with the same momentum – she stated.
