In Round 4 of the Womens Youth League play-off, we hosted Rapid Bucharest at the Erőss Zsolt Arena synthetic pitch. Emőke Berkeczi’s side played out a 1–1 draw in a hard-fought match against the team from the capital.

In Round 4 of the Womens Youth League play-off, we hosted Rapid Bucharest at the Erőss Zsolt Arena synthetic pitch. Emőke Berkeczi’s side played out a 1–1 draw in a hard-fought match against the team from the capital.

The visitors took the lead in the 30th minute, but our team responded quickly, and in the 37th minute Ingrid Alexandra Pap Ieney equalized before the break. In the second half we had chances to turn the game around and even hit the post, while our goalkeeper made several outstanding saves to keep us in the match, and the score remained unchanged.

After the match, head coach Emőke Berkeczi highlighted the team’s attitude and progress. – The girls fought hard and came back from a deficit. We had chances and even hit the post, but unfortunately couldn’t score. Our goalkeeper made outstanding saves. Overall, it wasn’t a bad match, but the girls still lack confidence to play what we practice, however we are improving from match to match – she said.
