After a weaker first half, our Women’s Youth League team suffered a home defeat on Friday at noon against Rapid Bucharest.
The visitors arrived in Csíkszereda from the top of the table, and they had also won the reverse fixture 5–1 back in September. This time, the match followed a similar pattern: in the first half, the capital city side dominated, while the second half became more balanced — and at times rather heated — with our girls managing to score a consolation goal through Részeg Beáta.
Head coach Emőke Berkeczi summed up the match as follows:
“Unfortunately, I saw the same thing at home as in the away match: the girls were overwhelmed in the first half. So we went into the break at 4–0. Once they calmed down, I can say we played a much more balanced second half which, if you think about it, was the equivalent of a 1–1 result. It’s a pity that this confidence wasn’t there from the very first minute.”
