Our U17 team managed to come from behind away at UTA, bringing home all three points for Szilárd Mitra’s side. Despite the victory, the head coach highlights not only the positive aspects in his assessment.

“We have never started a match as poorly as Sunday. We were soft, lacked aggression, and a few players didn’t run enough – which is something I cannot accept. Everyone can make mistakes, but there is no excuse for not running and not working. As a result, we conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes, coming from a chain of errors.

In the second part of the first half we woke up, took the initiative, and became increasingly dangerous in front of their goal. From a well-built attack we managed to equalise and then take the lead.

At the start of the second half, we could have decided the match: we had two big chances – one from a wide free kick and another from an attacking move – but we failed to convert them. As time went on, the opponents pushed more and more, took the initiative, and in my opinion we sat too deep and gave them too much space. They also had dangerous actions, but we managed to defend them.

All in all, it was a very difficult match, which we won through hard work, dedication, and humility. Congratulations to the boys, because once again we were a united team, and – as in our previous matches – this played a big role in achieving a positive result!”
