Our U11 girls’ team, coached by Roland Barabási and Noémi Nagy, began their journey in the National Championship. The first tournament round took place on Saturday, October 25, in Miercurea Ciuc.

Head coach Roland Barabási shared his thoughts:

“The national championship for U11 girls has kicked off again this year. We had the honor of hosting the first round, featuring four teams: ACS FC Bacău, AFC Botoșani, ACS Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe, and FK Csíkszereda. The competition consists of four rounds, and each team played two matches in this opening stage.

Our first opponent was AFC Botoșani, who started the match very strongly and used their physical advantage to challenge our players. For many girls, it was their first official match, so we gained valuable experience despite the result going in favor of the opponent.

Learning from our mistakes, we played more confidently and effectively in the second game. We created several dangerous chances and put the opponent under real pressure. Nevertheless, the team from Bacău proved to be stronger.

We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but every small step is progress. It was a wonderful experience for the girls — the excitement of their first matches and their love for the game were shining in their eyes. A victory would have made it even sweeter, but the season is long, and we are confident that hard work will pay off!”

The next round will be held on November 9, in Botoșani.
